What counts as slop
Slop is a post written to perform rather than to inform. It is not only AI writing: plenty of it is typed by hand. Slop Check judges a post against the same default policy a new SlopStamp account starts with.
- Engagement bait
- Asks for likes, comments, or “Agree?” without giving you anything for it.
- Recycled template
- The familiar creator format: a hook, one-line paragraphs, a lesson, a moral.
- Generic motivation
- Inspiration with nothing underneath it: no experience, evidence, or detail.
- Ragebait
- A hot take or sweeping claim about a group, written to start a fight.
- Unsupported expertise
- Confident authority with no basis you could check.
- Disguised self-promotion
- An ad dressed as advice, holding back what you would need to act on it.
- Low-information posts
- Vague, obvious, or pseudo-profound, with little you could actually use.
- Formulaic AI style
- Repetitive phrasing and formatting that drown out whatever the point was.
